I have a quote I like to say about sleep. 'Sleep isn't the end of the day, it's the beginning of the next'. You see, I believe that sleep is one of the most important gifts we can give our mind and body, every day. The problem is, most people put sleep on the back burner, thinking it is not important. Watch this short video to see why it's so important to your mental and physical health
Set up
To get a good night sleep, you need to ensure you have set yourself up for a good night sleep. Many just look at the clock and say it's time for bed. You should look at your clock and say 'it's time to start getting prepared for a good night sleep.'
We live our lives at a hecitic rate and don't take the time to re-vitalise our mind and body. We think that sleep is just something we have to do but that is so wrong. Setting up your day right starts from getting a good quality sleep. Here are some ways of getting it done.
- Create the right sleeping environment
- Stop using electronic devices 2 hours prior to bed
- Have a warm shower 1 hour prior to bed
- Complete a mindfulness session just prior to bed
- Journal your day and start a gratitude journal you fill out just before bed
- Ensure your room is fully dark.
